White Papers

Over the past year, the Pittsburgh Collaboratory for Water Research, Education and Outreach has held a series of outreach meetings on the topics of green infrastructure, water quality, and flooding.  These meetings sought to identify knowledge gaps and best approaches for filling those gaps.  The white papers posted here summarize and synthesize the outcomes of those meetings, as well as provide some suggested paths forward.  

NEW!!!  Water Quality in Southwestern Pennsylvania:  Knowledge Gaps and Approaches white paper synthesizes gaps in assessment and awareness regarding regional water quality.

Green Infrastructure for Storm Water Management:  Knowledge Gaps and Approaches white paper addresses potential ways to fill gaps in knowledge in the planning, design, installation, monitoring, and maintenance of green infrastructure in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

The Collaboratory strives to provide the community with educational resources on water related topics. This section contains documents that have been made by members of the Collaboratory to aid in the understanding of water issues that affect the Greater Pittsburgh Region.

Prior Reports on Regional Water Issues

There have been a number of water management initiatives released throughout the Greater Pittsburgh Region in recent history. These publications show an ongoing attempt to continue the conversation surrounding water issues in the area.
