Research Interests
Research in Dr. Haig’s group combines aspects from engineering, environmental microbiology, environmental chemistry, and public health in order to advance drinking water production, quality and sustainability. More specifically we are interested in applying traditional microbiological methods and cutting-edge molecular techniques to advance our understanding of the drinking water microbiome; how to manipulate it to provide safer water in a more energy-efficient way, and understand its role in human health.
