Research Interests

My research focuses on how the global economy impacts people and communities, and how diverse groups are coming together across geographic, economic, and cultural divides to address growing inequalities and environmental challenges. My current work explores the use of global human rights frameworks to advance people’s rights and dignity in local communities as part of a globally emergent “right to the city” and anti-austerity movement. The human right to clean water is central to these struggles.
