Research Interests

Research in my lab focuses on the ecology and evolutionary biology of amphibians, mainly at the population and landscape scales. Amphibians are often thought of as indicator species of environmental health, and thus our research aimed at understanding the impacts of climate change and disease on amphibian populations has links to the health of the aquatic environments these animals depend on to complete their development (ponds, wetlands, streams and lakes). As the Director of Pitt's biological field station, the Pymatuning Lab of Ecology, which is located on Lake Pymatuning in Northwest Pennsylvania, I also am involved in facilitating research on a wide variety of research topics related to water.
